“A small success...” ❌
Another one that ought to be banished. Why?

Life is unpredictable.
Sure, chances are that 1+1 will equal 2 tomorrow as well.
But some things are less guaranteed:
➡️ If you set up this treatment, are you certain it will work?
➡️ If you say A, are you certain the other person also hears A, and understands A as you intended?
Similarly:
➡️ If you achieve a “small” success, can you really be sure that after some time it won’t have a big impact?
We do this so often.
Diminishing something: “Oh well, it’s just a small success.” 🤷♂️
It’s an automatic habit that has taken hold.
I can only speculate about how it started.
🔸 Perhaps we don’t want to show off or appear arrogant.
🔹 Maybe we want to protect ourselves in case it doesn’t achieve the hoped-for result, so we don’t look foolish to others, or even to ourselves.
🔸 We already find it “normal” that we do this (see yesterday’s post…)
The fact is:
💡 You never know what the effect of any action will be.
Stop belittling your actions and steps.
Celebrate them, be proud, and see them as successes.
Yes, maybe they are merely intermediate steps toward a final result.
But the first step matters as much as the last.
After all, without the first, there can be no last. 🤔
That’s why this mindset is part of my coaching.
Pride, pausing to reflect on the steps taken, and learning lessons from the mistakes we make. 💪
Because yes, those count just as much as the things that go right.
